My mae geri is back!
Cool poster, uh?
I just found it hanging on the wall of the club.
I guess most of you are getting your ties ready to wrap your knuckles for tomorrow's work meeting.
But yes, my mae geri is back!
It went away when I broke my (both) big toes on my friend Jack's elbows. He is really fast covering his tummy pulling his elbows down. I, on the other hand, can't help being hit on the stomach over and over again. But don't worry, I grew used to it.
But today I went to the club (the fight club, of course) and between shoulder lifting and biceps lifting I found a helpful soul wanting to trade blows with me. He insisted on kick-boxing rules and in the ring. Why not?

During several 3 minutes rounds we hit each other (my cauliflower ear is growing healthy, thank you Jimmy) and something happened, I don't know what, but my mae geris started to connect again, my confidence grew and then it just got better!
What once was my favorite technique had been forgotten and discarded, but now I found it again.
And as Shirai Hiroshi Sensei once told me: Mae geri: with this weapon, it's finished!
Pictures of me doing mae geri? What for?
For those who don't practice Karate, mae gei is called front kick in English.
